The Gurkha Heavy Duty Kukri Knife (28″) is a traditional oversized Nepalese blade designed for power, reach, and versatility. Featuring a 17-inch full tang carbon steel blade and an overall length of 28 inches, this kukri is one of the largest and most powerful styles available, built for serious heavy-duty use.

Hand-forged by skilled Bishwakarma (Kami) blacksmiths in Nepal using 5160 high-carbon truck spring steel, the blade is water-tempered and semi-polished for durability, razor sharpness, and easy maintenance. Its curved belly design provides powerful chopping force, making it effective for cutting wood, clearing brush, preparing firewood, and survival needs.

The 9–10 inch extended rosewood handle is ergonomically carved, full tang, and designed for two-handed use, allowing maximum control and striking power. An enlarged pommel heel ensures the blade remains secure in hand during demanding tasks.

Each kukri comes complete with a hand-stitched buffalo leather sheath reinforced with cotton, plus two traditional companion knives — the Karda for small utility cutting, and the Chakmak for sharpening and flint striking.

Today, kukris of this size are still valued by the Nepalese Army and British Gurkha units for jungle training and survival practice.
